I gave all my lady friends shit when they got butterflies and stars tattoo'd in high school, I scoffed at them. To be fair though, those are dumb tattoos. They didn't mean anything.
I've gotten myself inked 4 times now, and all 4 are automotive symbols (never brands):
-5 speed shift pattern on my wrist
-periodic table symbol for Lead on my right foot
-unrestricted speed sign from the european highways on my upper left ribcage
-"schnell fahren mit prazision" in script up the bottom of my left fore-arm
Plans for more as well. For me it's less an outward statement, than customization. I always did patterns on my shoes and notebooks and stuff, this is just an extension of that.
